Are you a passionate horse lover looking for a rewarding adventure? Join our Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Project on South Africa’s stunning Wild Coast and make a real impact in the lives of abused, neglected, and injured horses.
As a volunteer, you'll help care for a herd of around 30 rescued horses, many of whom are learning to trust humans again. From daily feeding, grooming, and stable care to supporting rehabilitation programs and helping with groundwork, your efforts ensure each horse receives the love and attention it deserves. No matter your experience level, you'll be matched with horses and tasks that suit your skills and comfort—making this the perfect horse volunteering opportunity for beginners and seasoned riders alike.
You’ll also get involved with our beach and bush trail rides, which not only offer breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, lagoons, and coastal forests but also generate vital income to support the rescue center. Imagine horseback riding on the beach, spotting dolphins and whales, and ending your day with a sunset over the ocean.
In your free time, explore the local area, go on safari, hike through nature reserves, or simply relax and live like a local. By joining us, you’re not just going on an adventure—you’re giving horses a second chance at life.
Volunteer in South Africa with horses and turn your love for animals into meaningful action.
With all these horses to feed the farm goes through 2 tons of food a week! Volunteer fees assist in covering the costs of grain.
Volunteers work closely with the horses daily. In addition to feeding and grooming, maintenance includes dipping for tick prevention, farrier visits, and making sure everyone is healthy.
Everybody's favorite day! Enjoy the South African style of barbeque with German sausage, pork rashers, farm raised beef steaks, salads, and pap and gravy!
Even though it started with the horses, the farm is host to chickens, donkeys, pigs, peacocks, geese, sheep, and the occasional owl. Volunteers that stay for a longer period of time and have some experience can work with some of the younger horses.
Volunteers come from all over the world and stay in a flat on the farm. The work day starts at 7am and typically finishes around 5pm.

The horses still need your help and support. Every little bit helps.
